Chaweng Stadium, founded in 1996 by Khun Kensen Poonsawat, was the first boxing stadium on Koh Samui. Created to share the art of Muay Thai with the island’s growing tourist population, it has since moved to a new location in Chaweng. Fighters from Thailand and around the world compete here, ranging from children as young as 8 to adult men and women. The stadium hosts six traditional Muay Thai fights twice a week, complete with the Wai Khru dance, live commentary, and a DJ. It’s a lively and authentic way to experience Thai culture.
